calm thyself

The holidays are certainly perfect for bringing out the stressed-to-the-maximum-freaks in all of us. I like to believe that this is due to some combination of final exams, ungodly temperatures, and the prospect of spending a little bit too much time home with the family... Regardless of what has you on edge this season, I have a temporary solution. As we all know, tea is awesome (to put things modestly). Another thing that we all hopefully know at this juncture in life is that baths are pretty stellar as well. So why not coalesce the two and make, you guessed it, a tea bath? The healing properties of a tea bath will help to rejuvenate your body and mind and have you back on your grind so that you can bring in the new year worry and stress free. Here's how:

You Will Need:
Plastic bag
1 cup lavender buds
 1 cup chamomile buds
1 cup mint leaves
4 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
Cheesecloth
Scissors
2 rubber bands

1. In plastic bag, combine all of the flower buds and herbs. Add four drops of the essential oil and shake well.
2. Cut cheesecloth into 2 approximately 10 x 10 inch squares.
3. Fill each square with a generous handful of the flower and herb mixture.
4. Bring together the four corners of each bag and secure with rubber band.
5. Drop tea bags into hot bath water and steep away your worries.
