fall makeup

Allow me to set the scene for you: Summer ends. The female population struggles to cling to our [now] naturally tan skin and beach-inspired limited makeup regime. But as fall reaches its peak we make the frightful discovery that we're all beginning to look like corpses and maybe we had better put on some real makeup because, after all, this is life and not the Twilight Saga. Enter beacon of hope: The fall smokey eye. Dramatic enough to warm up the face, but not too severe for the milky skin that most of us are now dealing with. I have demonstrated this everyday look on one of my beautiful roommates, Amy.

1. Start with a light neutral shadow all over the lid and brow bone (I used Nude Slip by Revlon).
2. Using a blending brush, work a warm brown shadow into the crease (I used Corduroy by M.A.C).
3. Using a flat brush, work the same color from step 2 into the lower lash line.
4. Blend a shimmery brown shadow into the crease, and then into the outer corners of the lower lash line (I used Tempting by M.A.C).
5. Apply mascara.
6. Dust a light layer of any blush over cheekbones (I used Tipsy by Tarte).
7. Dab some highlighter onto cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose (I used Orgasm by Nars).

And Viola! The Walking Dead is back to being just another fictional show on TV.
