Ay yo! My name is Bailey Bowers--
I am a well-loved daughter, sister and friend, and a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks.
I started this blog in late 2012 after I was involved in several unfortunate incidents that left me feeling dispirited and afraid to leave my house. During this time I was able to reflect a great deal on my life;
who I was; who I wanted to be.
I internalized the emotions I felt regarding my negative experiences and decided that I was going to extract the lessons, nix the other stuff, and emerge a better version of myself as a result.
That was when I created bohogenesis... and since then it has been viewed more than 30,000 times from all over the world.
A bohemian, by definition, is a person who lives and acts free of regard for conventional rules and practices; Someone who challenges societal beliefs, strives for individuality, and lives without fear of rejection or disapproval.
The birth (or genesis) of this being can take place inside of anyone who chooses to allow it.
That is what this blog means to me. And although it has changed a lot since my first post, experienced some spells of intermittent downtime, and not always been exactly what I imagined it to be, writing Bohemian Genesis has been a hell of a ride... and one I don't intend to be finished with anytime soon.
